Troubleshooting
How to reconnect an expired social media account
Reconnect an expired LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube or TikTok account in PodRescale. Check permissions and understand what happens to waiting and failed posts.
Restore the intended account connection and check what will publish next.
Before you start
- Workspace owner access
- Sign-in access to the social account
On this page
A social connection can expire or lose access. PodRescale shows a warning on the channel or affected post. Reconnecting the account is different from approving the waiting content.
1. Identify the channel that needs attention
Open Settings → Posting. Read the warning and check the account name. You may also reach the reconnect action from a failed post in Calendar or a warning in Review.
2. Reconnect the intended account
Choose Reconnect and follow the provider's sign-in flow. Check which account is signed in. Select the profile, page or channel you actually want to publish to.
Read the permission prompts and any message about missing access. If the desired destination is not offered, check your permissions on that platform before proceeding with another account.
3. Check the returned channel status
When you return to PodRescale, check the account name and publishing mode. The row should no longer show the expired state for that connection.
If it still requires attention, the connection may not have completed. Read the message and try the relevant permission or sign-in fix rather than repeating the same flow without changes.
4. Read what happens to pending posts
Reconnecting can retry failed posts or restore waiting content. Read the confirmation shown after the flow. It explains what resumes immediately, what waits for a scheduled time and what needs Review.
Open Calendar afterwards and check the affected posts. Do not approve or submit a duplicate merely because the original was waiting during the expired connection.
If you cannot reconnect
Ask the workspace owner if your role cannot change channels. For a platform permission problem, check the access in that platform's account settings.
You can download and publish manually if appropriate, but check for an automatic retry first so the same content does not go out twice. Follow failed-post recovery.
