What you’ll be able to do

Choose a podcast clip and prepare it for your YouTube channel.

To make YouTube Shorts from a podcast, start with your original video recording, process it in PodRescale, and check the short clips it creates. Connecting a YouTube channel for publishing is separate from importing a YouTube watch link.

1. Upload the recording

Use Upload a file for an MP4 or MOV recording. YouTube-link imports are not available in every environment, so the original file is the reliable starting point. See uploading a video episode.

For an audio-only show, check whether the generated audiogram suits the content you want on the channel.

2. Choose a short clip

Open the finished episode and select Clips. Play a candidate from start to finish. Check the opening, the final sentence and whether the main idea is understandable without the rest of the episode.

Preview the exact clip you want to share, including its opening and ending.

Check the subtitles and framing. For demonstrations or presentations, the full-frame setting can preserve more of the original picture in future clips.

3. Connect the correct YouTube channel

Open Settings → Posting, add YouTube and follow the account connection flow. Select the channel you intend to use and check its name after returning.

If the desired channel is missing, check the Google account and channel access used during sign-in. Avoid connecting a different channel just to complete the form.

4. Review the post before approving

Open the YouTube item in Review. Play the media, check its written text and publishing time, then approve it. Use Calendar to inspect its scheduled status.

If the connection has expired, reconnect before expecting the post to go out. Read the confirmation because waiting or failed content may resume after reconnection.

Publish manually instead

Download the clip and upload it through YouTube's own publishing tools. Check the platform preview and any current requirements it shows. PodRescale downloading does not upload or publish the file to YouTube.

Does this update my full podcast episode on YouTube?

No. Publishing a short clip is separate from managing the full episode, its description and chapters. Copy those materials from the Release kit and add them in your own publishing tools.
